Flavio Winkler-Ford

My interest in wildlife started at an early age when I used to attend Stover Wildlife Watch Group meetings. Since then, I have gained experience (mostly on a voluntary basis) with various conservation organisations in the UK, Jersey and Brazil, and graduated in Conservation Biology and Ecology (BSc, University of Exeter). More recently, I worked as a zookeeper at Jersey Zoo.

Currently, I am coordinating ACT’s Wildlife Warden Scheme which is an opportunity that I couldn’t miss. The scheme launched in October 2020 and aims to appoint volunteer Wildlife Wardens for every parish in Teignbridge. Wildlife Wardens are provided training in the skills required to reverse the decline of local biodiversity. It has been very uplifting to meet so many people who are passionate about wildlife and determined to give it the help that it needs.
