We have built a set of interactive maps to help you gather information about your town and parish. These include:
- Current emissions
- Resource pack information
- Domestic emissions
- Road transport emissions
- Combination of all data we hold
If you click or tap an area on the map, you will be shown a list of links to features at the point clicked. If you then click one of the links you will be shown statistics and other data relating to the feature clicked.
The map can be dragged to centre on a different position.
You can pinch on a touch device to zoom in and out, and can use the scrollwheel to do the same if you have a mouse.
The maps below are synchronised so that they always show the same place at the same scale.
Current emissions
The map below shows parish outlines, you can select a parish either from the dropdown list by Zoom or by moving the pointer over the map and then clicking. If you click on one of the parish areas you will be directed to the emissions data for this area provided by the Impact tool.
The Cat. and Sub. drop down lists above the map can be used to select a category and subcategory of consumption emissions. The map is shaded with its intensity proportional to emissions.
We strongly recommend that if not already set, you select “consumption” emissions, “per-household” and “show sub-categories”. You can also download a table of this graphic from that webpage. Here’s an introductory video covering use of the Impact tool.
This provides average household consumption based emissions which you can also use to compare your actual household emissions with others living in the same parish.
Please contact us for support and further information on how to use this resource.
Resource Pack Information
This map shows parish outlines and an entry field for a parish name. You can select a parish either by clicking on the map or selecting it in the zoom list.
Once selected, you will see information related to ACTs support and progress in relation to the Resource Pack. Please refer to the separate Wildlife Warden Scheme for information on this in your area.
You don’t need to declare an emergency to get support from ACT, just contact us to find out more.
Current and Potential Emissions from EPCs
This map has census output areas coloured by emissions level, together with parish boundaries. Two maps are shown side by side, both maps pan and zoom simultaneously. Click on an area to see links to further data about the area.
The following presentations are available:
- Comparative map of emissions per EPC
- Comparative map of emissions/hectare from EPCs
- Comparative map of emissions/dwelling from EPCs
- Comparative map of emissions/capita from EPCs
Road Transport Emissions
We have analysed traffic flows and greenhouse gas emissions from road transport for the district to produce maps of emissions from each road and for each census output area.
The roads map shows major roads only when zoomed out, zoom in to show full road network detail.
Data we hold
This map shows all the layers we have. Layers can be turned on by clicking the checkbox on the left of the legend. You can then control which layers respond to clicks on the map by selecting the clickable checkbox on the legend.
Technical Documents
Several of you have asked how the maps were produced. These technical documents describe the processes in detail. The next release of the mapping application will also include brief descriptions of each field, sources of data, update frequencies, dates downloaded, and processing applied.
These more technical documents describe some of the more complex processes in detail:
